UW Apologizes For Charging Full Tuition During Remote Learning
As UW continues the gradual reopening of campus they have sent out various emails to update the student body. One such email came from the office of the registrar, informing students that since class will be in-person for the foreseeable future, they will begin charging full tuition again. The email was immediately followed be another email shown below:
Re: Changes to Undergrad Tuition
Dear University of Washington students,
It has been brought to our attention that we forgot to adjust our cost of tuition while offering Zoom courses the past two years. We also continued to charge fees associated with administration, staffing, and campus management while the campus was closed. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience or hardship this may have caused you but must remind you that we do not offer refunds. If you have any concerns or complaints, please feel free to keep them to yourself.
Our bad lol,
Elizabeth Rossetti, Ed.D., University Registrar

Following this email, the campus has announced that to remain a not-for-profit university, they will be giving all the additional money that they have made over the past two years to football coach, Kalen DeBoer. The money will be awarded to the coach as a bonus for every game he can go without using a homophobic slur. Any remaining funds at the end of the fiscal year will still be given to Kalen DeBoer for trying his best.
The campus also announced that to apologize to the students who paid full tuition all this time, they will hold an ice cream social in Red Square at the end of February. Be sure to show up early though, as the school says they will only be able to provide five quarts for the event.
